On Friday 20th March The Vintage Teacup Hire Company is hosting a “Vintage Daffodil Tea” for Chatteris in Bloom, an organisation that prepares the town of Chatteris for the annual Anglia in Bloom competition in which they are regularly awarded some of the highest merits.
The ‘Vintage Tea’, which takes place three times a year, is an important fundraising event to help pay for planting, equipment and materials throughout the season. In June last year we hosted a ‘Strawberry Tea’ with homemade meringues and fresh strawberries. At the end of November there is a ‘Christmas Tea’ with cinnamon flavours and mince pies on the menu.
The Vintage Tea is hosted in the King Edward Centre in Chatteris with donations of homemade cakes and sandwiches from other businesses including The Old Bakery and Sue’s Cakes displayed on three-tier cakestands, sandwich platters and cake plates.
We provide china trios for 50 people plus tables decorations and teapots in which unlimited top-ups of tea and coffee are served. The Vintage Teacup proprietors Lawrence and Kirsty are on hand to serve along with an army of other volunteers organised by the Chatteris in Bloom committee.
